Two wolves

It was
as if I would wander through the woods,
my whole life alone.
I fight for survival,
loneliness is my home.

It was the night I met you.
I saw into your eyes
and so did you.
I saw myself and knew,
I was connected,
two of a species
in this world.

I joined you,
only short.
You left me, but
I saw you watching me,
hide.
I moved further,
deeper into the wild.
I cried.

Alone on my way again.
This time though, when
ever I’m scared,
I know you’re somewhere in this world.

I can hear your encouraging words.
imagine you on my side,
doubts are gone, I’m right.
I feel stronger and be sure
I can make it through.
